Customized message boards, guestbooks, and forms

If you want to provide a way for visitors to send feedback, ask questions, or have discussions, don't use one of those off-site services.  It is much more professional to host it on your own site, customized to fit the rest of your site.  Do keep in mind that a busy message board consumes a considerable amount of bandwidth (?), but it will also bring people by daily instead of occasionally.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Most SEO is done in the actual content of the page, as content with actual substance goes a long way toward obtaining good search engine rankings.  While content for your site is up to you, suggestions can be made where appropriate, to help your site obtain better search engine placement.

The rest of the SEO will be taken care of for you, then it will be submitted correctly to reputable directories and search engines once your site is ready to go public.  Don't ever let anyone submit your site to "link farms" or use software to automatically submit it to "thousands of search engines at a time," because that will only hurt your rankings in the more popular search engines that use algorithms to try and put the most relevant sites on the front page of their results.

Custom error pages

Have you ever tried to reach a page, only to get a "404" message that you didn't understand?  With Lesigns, error pages can be customized to make them more helpful to the visitor, thus keeping them on the website longer, and also to alert the webmaster of certain problems visitors may have so they can be corrected.

Page Redirects

These are especially helpful when pages or images are deleted or moved around.  Instead of a "File Not Found" message, redirects can be put in place to take visitors to a page's new location or to something comparable, or just to alert the visitor that a page that once existed has since been removed.
